Number of the Day and Daily Fix-It Freebie
We have a little over 3 weeks of summer break and we are back to school. I am trying to get ready for that while also enjoying my summer vacation still. I have seen many Number of the Day sheets on pinterest, but none really suited my classroom so I created one to start the school year with. We add components to our calendar each month so I only put items on the sheet that we would be covering whole group in calendar. We use the Everyday Counts calendar math and it is wonderful. So the sheet covers the things we will be covering in August and September such number before and after, place value, number word form, number sentence to equal the number of the day, Today is ______, writing the date, and ways to make 5. The second sheet is a recording sheet for Our Reading Street Daily Fix-Its. I plan to use this sheet right after we have done calendar whole group. After calendar will be reading and we will have three rotations: reading group, independent work (this sheet), and literacy center. I will update my number of the day sheet before October to add more. So check back. Click the picture of the number of the day sheet below to get yours.

These are fantastic!!! Thanks for sharing. Do you have the ones you use throughout the year as you add more?
ReplyDeleteI don't have them yet. This will be my first year using this sheet. I am going to get my calendar book from school and I plan on making the next few months by next week. I will post them as well once I do.

This is super! What do you do in the 'make 5' section?
ReplyDeleteIn the make 5 section they will draw different dot patterns to make 5. We have a special number each month and explore the combinations to make the special number that month. We start with 5.
